Every year, “After Hour Classics” brings over 60 musicians to ArtisTree for a series of performances.
From the 19-22 Feb 2013, Hong Kong Philharmonic will present a different one hour programme each evening, featuring a string quartet, a wind quartet, ballet and opera music. Supported by Swire Properties, admission is free. For full details visit here.
19 Feb (Tuesday)
String Quartet Chamber
Beethoven’s sunniest string quartet begins this short programme. The quartet will be joined by Principal Clarinet Andrew Simon, for Brahms’ lovely quintet – a musical vision of an Autumn sunset.
20 Feb (Wednesday)
Wind Quintet Chamber
This performance features masterworks by Mozart and Ravel, arranged for wind quintet, as well as Nielsen’s charming showcase for its individual instruments.
21 Feb (Thursday)
A Night at the Ballet Orchestral
Principal Dancers of The Hong Kong Ballet Zhang Yao and Jin Yao will join the Hong Kong Philharmonic for a concert of ballet’s greatest moments.
22 Feb ( Friday)
A Night at the Opera Orchestral
Opera’s best-loved selections for orchestra, will be performed by the dazzling young soprano Alison Lau of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
